They often say that it takes a village - this time it took a village of revellers to help build a school in a village in Nepal. We have recently received a letter from the project coordinators in Bakrang-6.
We would like to thank you all for helping us to build a new school building in Bakrang-6 village in Nepal. In the corridor of our brand-new school, we have displayed a collage of pictures of people who have contributed to our cause- maybe you will spot your face among them?
Our story begins in 2015 in Poznań, when our association decided to run a fundraiser during Woodstock Festival Poland. We aimed to raise money to build a school for 255 pupils from Nepal. Their old school has been destroyed in an earthquake which has shaken the area in March 2015. We have managed to raise 5000 PLN, and it was enough to purchase 8 600 bricks in Nepal.
Our new school is 600 square meters, has 8 classrooms and it has been officially opened in June 2017. This is the largest school built in the country after the earthquake!
With kindest regards and gratitude,
Sylwia Jędrnalik & Maciej Pastwa - project coordinators
...and send us a vote! We are extremely proud to have been chosen to participate in European Music Awards again! We have been included in the Best Major Festival category. The poll closes on October 31st.
Under pressure from the local government we had to move from Żary. We had to look of a last-minute venue to hold the festival - we settled on Lębork, but it seems it was not meant to be at all...
We keep adding more and more unique items to our charity auctions, co-hosted by Allegro auction website. Among items listed for sale are rare memorabilia for fans of music and Woodstock Festival Poland.
