The city councillors have called for a press conference to inform the members of the press to reveal the results of the public opinion polls held in the city of Kostrzyn nad Odrą to find out what the citizens actually think about the festival and how it influences their daily lives. The results reveal that an overwhelming majority of people living in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, which, once a year becomes the music capital of Poland, gave the promoters of the festival green light to hold the event.
According to the Polish law, the decision on whether a festival can take place in a given time and place is made by the mayor of the town hosting the event. Andrzej Kunt, the mayor of Kostzyn nad Odrą said: "We needed to be sure that the citizens of the town want to host the festival. The results of the poll reveal that the city wants to be the host of the festival in the future".
Almost 80% of the responders support the decision to hold the festival in Kostrzyn nad Odrą. An overwhelming majority of business owners believe that the festival is beneficial for the town, and 96% of business owners voted yes when asked if the town should host next edition of the festival. Majority of citizens also see Woodstock Festival Poland as a great way of promoting the town in Poland.
"The festival has been held in Kostrzyn nad Odrą 14 times and we are delighted to hear that the hosts of the event, the citizens of Kostrzyn nad Odrą, support our event. These people know the festival best and the fact that they are supportive and welcoming is great. We are gearing up to hold this year's event - there is a plenty of formalities to fulfil, but the support from the town of Kostrzyn is a great motivation for us to continue the work" said Krzysztof Dobies, press officer for the festival.
These bands have sent their demo CDs in hopes of performing at one of the stages of this year's edition of Woodstock Festival Poland. The Jurors liked their material so much, that they decided to add them to the festival's line-up for 2018.
