Following a highly successful 2016 which saw their tenth studio album The False Foundation released to excellent reviews followed by a massive sold-out tour, ARCHIVE have today announced news of the final leg of touring for the album, taking it across Europe throughout November. The band have also shared a video for the track “Splinters” from the album. Speaking about the tour and video Archive founder Darius Keeler says: “We’re very excited to announce the final leg of our Kings Of The False Foundation tour; the shows we did around the album release last year we’re without a doubt some of the best Archive has ever played. We really pushed the boundaries in terms of production and the visual presentation of the show, I can’t wait to take it back out on the road. Splinters’ is one of the stand-out tracks from the False Foundation album for me, and live it’s such an intense experience. It feels like Archive is in a great place creatively right now”.
The False Foundation is the follow-up to 2015’s acclaimed ‘Restriction’ LP which saw the collective take on a mammoth tour across Europe playing their biggest and most successful shows of their 20 year career, including two nights at the 6,000 capacity Zenith venue in Paris, plus main stage appearances at many of Europe’s major festivals.
The musical collective has been formed by Darius Keller and Danny Griffiths in 1994 in London has initially been a trip-hop project, in later years growing to combine trip-hop, avant-garde, post-rock, progressive rock and shoegaze. Twenty years of their career resulted in ten studio albums and hundreds of visually engaging shows played across the globe. We hope that their performance at Woodstock Festival Poland will be one of the highlights of the band's European tour.
