Academy of the Finest of Arts
The Academy of the Finest Arts is a special space designated for thought-provoking meetings and discussions. This is where former President of Poland Lech Wałęsa, former Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki and former chairman of the National Bank of Poland Leszek Balcerowicz told you about the history of our country, this is where Monika Olejnik and Tomasz Sekielski discoursed on journalism and journalists, this is where writers Dorota Masłowska and Janusz Głowacki and university professor Jerzy Bralczyk discussed language and the role it plays in our world today.
The Academy of the Finest Arts has hosted all kinds of discussions, including ones about topics such as religion, freedom and sacrifice. During the meetings, the Woodstockians are encouraged to ask their own questions – ask away!
Soon we will be able to present all of this year’s guests invited to the Academy. What we can say already - they are going to be pretty extraordinary people! Why do all these famous people want to come to AFA? – You might be asking yourselves. It is because they know that what they will find there will be intellectually stimulating meetings held in a wonderful atmosphere. They know that the young people they are going to meet know how to discuss and how to listen. Although the Academy is an alcohol-free and smoke-free zone and participation in its meetings is voluntary, the tent is usually filled to the brim with people.
The Academy of the Finest Arts is much more than just meetings and discussions. It offers a wide range of workshops and gives its visitors the chance to really “interact” with art, by painting, sculpting, modelling clay, playing the guitar and watching movies.
The details on this year’s edition of the Academy will be available our website. Make sure you visit it often!
