Robert Biedroń holds Master’s degree in political science at University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, completion diploma of School of Human Rights at Helsinki Committee for Human Rights and PhD in political sciences at Pułtusk Academy of Humanities. He has been a human rights consultant working with different human rights organisations in Poland and abroad. Robert Biedroń is the initiator and serves on the board of Polish Campaign Against Homophobia. Formerly a member of the Sejm, he now serves as a mayor of Słupsk. He has been actively campaigning for LGBT rights and tolerance and raised issues connected with ecology and civic involvement in local government. The politician was decorated with the French National Order of Merit.
